The Brooklyn Nets are rolling out more activations related to their 60th anniversary during the 2026-27 season. This morning, the team announced “Nets Fest,” a free fan festival taking place at the Major Owens Community Center in Crown Heights on October 4.
The event will bring attendees closer to the team and community with current and former player interactions, autograph and photo opportunities. It’ll also include basketball skills challenges and competitions, youth activities, live entertainment

BSE Global wouldn’t confirm whether or not Nets Fest will permanently replace Practice in the Park, the team’s annual community season kickoff celebration which has been held at both Brooklyn Bridge Park and Potomac Playground in Bed-Stuy. But the Fan Fest will serve as its open-to-the-public community event this year. Nets Fest does appear to have all of the attractions Practice in the Park carried last year and will take place around its usual time. The team did also note that Fan Fest would “build on the success” of Practice in the Park.
“I’ve done community events, but nothing has compared to this,” Danny Wolf said at PITP last year. “It’s a really well put together event. It’s always cool to get involved in the community like this.”
Aside from the aforementioned, Nets Fest will involve a Vendor Village and Artist Alley to highlight local businesses and artisans. It’ll also a feature “Brooklyn Marketplace” including local nonprofits and community organizations, family-friendly activities, local food and beverage vendors, and other Brooklyn-based cultural experiences.
Tickets for Nets Fest will become available at 10 a.m. EST on Tuesday.
