Former UConn forward Dorka Juhász made history by being named the youngest-ever EuroLeague Most Valuable Player. The 26-year-old averaged 12.8 points on 52.0 percent shooting to go along with 8.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals in 24.0 minutes for Galatasaray Cagdas Faktoring out of Istanbul, Turkey. She also made the All-EuroLeague First Team.
Meanwhile, former UConn star Gabby Williams took home back-to-back EuroLeague Defensive Player of the Year honors — her third overall. She led the league
with 3.0 steals per game — 0.7 more than the next closest player — and also put up 12.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists. The Fenerbahce Opet forward also landed on the All-EuroLeague Second Team.
Juhász sat out the 2025 WNBA season and capitalized on the time away from basketball. In addition to the MVP award, she helped Galatasaray reach the EuroLeague finals, though she had to sit out due to a right foot injury suffered in the team’s semifinal contest. Galatasaray ultimately fell to Fenerbahce, who also featured Breanna Stewart alongside Williams.
Now, Juhász is set to re-join the Minnesota Lynx ahead of the 2026 campaign. A native of Pecs, Hungary, she transferred to UConn in 2021 after two seasons at Ohio State. Juhász’s first year with the Huskies was cut short after she fractured her wrist in the Elite Eight, but she returned to post 14.2 points and 9.9 rebounds in her final season, earning All-Big East Second Team honors.
In 2023, the Lynx drafted her with the fourth pick in the second round, 16th overall. Juhász spent two seasons in Minnesota before missing out last summer.
