What is the story about?

Good
morning folks. We’re getting a much needed day off from the Mariners following their horrendous road trip. Let’s clean our collective palate and take a reset with some off-day links.
In Mariners news…
- Hoping to shore up their bullpen, the M’s agreed to a minor league deal with former All-Star right-hander Michael Fulmer.
- Tyler Kepner at The Athletic caught up with Jerry Dipoto during the team’s road trip in Philadelphia to discuss the (mostly) great season the Mariners have been having. ($)
- Christian Little has quietly been thriving since the M’s drafted him last season, and now he’ll get a taste of Everett before the season is over.
Around the league…
- The Pirates are finally calling up top pitching prospect Bubba Chandler to make his MLB debut. Chandler was in consideration for a rotation spot out of spring training, but struggled with his command this season in Triple-A which pushed back his call-up timeline.
- Former Mariners outfielder and current Astro Taylor Trammell was carted off the field after crashing into the outfield fence. He’s currently being evaluated for a concussion and neck/back stiffness.
- Brendan Kuty and Keith Law at The Athletic reported that the Yankees were aware that their 2025 fifth-rounder Core Jackson drew a swastika on a Jewish student’s dorm room door during his freshman season at Nebraska before they drafted him. ($)
- Awful Announcing reports that MLB rights deals are undergoing tectonic shifts, with the Home Run Derby moving to Netflix, MLB.tv being sold to ESPN, and more.
- Kiley McDaniel at ESPN updated his list of the top 100 prospects in the sport, headlined by Pittsburgh’s Konnor Griffin at No. 1.
- A strong baseball program joins the Pac-12.
Anders’ picks…
- One of my favorite RPGs for the Nintendo Switch shadow dropped onto Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 yesterday. If you’re a fan of the genre and haven’t gotten a chance to try it out, I highly recommend it!
