After beginning Miami Dolphins prep with perfect attendance, the New England Patriots returned without two on offense.
TreVeyon Henderson and A.J. Brown did not participate in Thursday’s practice. The running back hadn’t been listed as the week began in Foxborough, while the wide receiver had been limited due to a knee issue as well as the high ankle sprain that sent him to injured reserve in September.
The latter’s status for the AFC East matchup is now reportedly up in the air.
Here’s the second injury
report ahead of Sunday’s 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff at Hard Rock Stadium.
DID NOT PARTICIPATE
Patriots
- RB TreVeyon Henderson (illness)
- WR A.J. Brown (ankle, knee)
Dolphins
- OT Kadyn Proctor (concussion)
An illness kept Henderson out of Thursday’s practice in Foxborough. The No. 38 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft stands with 203 rushing yards, 45 receiving yards and one touchdown through 57 touches this fall for the backfield. He saw a season-low three carries during his most recent outing, however.
Out wide, since being activated back to the 53-man roster after four games away, Brown has played 101 out of 122 offensive snaps. But the June trade acquisition stands with just six receptions for 75 yards through those recent starts. And now with a knee flare-up coming out of the team’s mini bye. The rest of the active roster includes wideouts DeMario Douglas, Efton Chism III and Kyle Williams. That’s with veteran targets Romeo Doubs and Mack Hollins both on injured reserve.
LIMITED PARTICIPATION
Patriots
- OT Morgan Moses (foot)
- G Ben Brown (knee)
- DT DaQuan Jones (back)
Dolphins
- WR Malik Washington (knee)
- WR Jared Wayne (knee)
- TE Greg Dulcich (ankle)
- TE Will Kacmarek (hamstring)
- CB JuJu Brents (neck, concussion)
- CB Reese Taylor (quad)
- S Michael Taaffe (neck, foot)
- S Dante Trader Jr. (shoulder)
- LS Tucker Addington (shoulder)
Three limited participants remained for head coach Mike Vrabel’s side of the AFC East aisle. With one Brown downgraded on Thursday, another Brown went forward in the partial group.
New England’s starting right guard had been ruled out during the club’s 26-19 win over the New York Jets at Gillette Stadium and was subsequently a non-participant heading into the 30-24 loss to the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. August trade acquisition Walter Rouse and October signing Matt Pryor stepped in next to center Jared Wilson as starting left guard Alijah Vera-Tucker landed on IR with a hamstring injury.
FULL PARTICIPATION
Patriots
- QB Drake Maye (right shoulder)
- OT Marcus Bryant (ankle — IR return
- LB Dre’Mont Jones (shoulder)
- LB Christian Elliss (chest)
- CB Carlton Davis III (neck)
- CB Channing Canada (hamstring)
- CB Karon Prunty (hamstring)
- S Kevin Byard III (chest)
Dolphins
- QB Malik Willis (groin)
- RB Jaylen Wright (foot, quad)
- DE Rob Beal Jr. (hamstring)
The Patriots move forward with three cornerbacks among the full participants, headlined by Davis. The veteran outside cornerback missed three consecutive starts due to a neck injury that first arose in September. But No. 7 has since been available without limitations for back-to-back practices along with two rookies working back from hamstring ailments.
Along the offensive line, the 21-day activation window remains open for Bryant. The sophomore swing tackle resumed practicing midway through the month after being designated to return from injured reserve at the NFL’s cutdown deadline in August. New England currently carries a vacant spot on the 53-man roster.
