The AP Poll was released on Tuesday afternoon after a great first week of college football, and the Michigan Wolverines actually moved down from No. 14 to No. 15 after handling business at home against a spunky New Mexico program. However, the Wolverines moved up to No. 13 in the Coaches Poll.
Elsewhere around the Big Ten, Ohio State (No. 1) jumped fellow Big Ten opponent Penn State (No. 2) after its big home win against Texas. Oregon and Illinois handled business to jump to No. 6 and 11, respectively,
and Indiana survived a close battle with Old Dominion to stay in the Top-25 at No. 23.
Other Big Ten teams to receive votes include USC and Nebraska.
Elsewhere, the SEC took a major hit in Week 1 with losses coming to Texas and Alabama (both starting in the Top-10). Kansas State followed a loss in Dublin with a late scare against FCS opponent North Dakota to drop out of the rankings altogether. Clemson was upset at home against LSU after coming into the season ranked in the Top-5, and Boise State came back down to earth in the post-Ashton Jeanty world by getting blown out at USF last week.
