Hello and happy Monday, folks.
Wait, I’m being told my editor is challenging what day of the week it is. Checking the system….
…..Monday. It’s a Monday, call is confirmed. My editor loses a challenge.
We saw a healthy dose of the brand spankin’ new automated ball-strike system in Cincinatti over the weekend. Roman Anthony was calling for challenges left and right, while C.B. Bucknor kept getting dunked on. I can tell you myself, since I was there in person: the crowd pops to the ABS results being shown
on the screen were loud.
So my question to you today, dear reader, is a simple one: what do you think of the ABS system after a few official games? Do you think two challenges aren’t enough? Should the entire game use ABS? Should we just scrap it entirely? What do you think of the strategy element involved, where teams have to consider when to deploy their challenges?
Be good to each other and go Sox.
