After a successful first-ever concert at Michigan Stadium earlier this year with Zach Bryan and John Mayer, the University of Michigan will be putting on two more concerts at the Big House next summer with another major country music star.
Announced on Thursday, Morgan Wallen will play at Michigan Stadium on Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25. He will play with Thomas Rhett, Hudson Westbrook and Blake Whiten on Friday, and then with HARDY, Westbrook and Whiten on Saturday.
Wallen was on the sixth season of NBC’s “The Voice” in 2014, and while he wasn’t the winner, he has reached music stardom since then. His second album entitled “Dangerous: The Double Album” was released in 2021 and was a huge album. In fact, it was the first country album to spend its first seven weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, and spent the next three weeks at No. 1.
He has released two albums since then, 2023’s “One Thing at a Time” and 2025’s “I’m the Problem,” with both finding major commercial success as well. All in all, he is the best-selling country artist of the 21st century up to this point and is sure to draw two huge crowds at the Big House.
