For the second straight week, Washington State will wear anthracite. This time it will be the first time WSU has worn their anthracite jerseys on the road.
Colorado State is wearing their sleek all-white “State Pride” jerseys, allowing WSU to wear a color jersey on the road. Last time WSU didn’t wear white on the road was in 2022 at Arizona.
Prior to that game, WSU wore all crimson at Oregon in the 2015 overtime thriller and
wore their gray jerseys at Utah in 2012.
Not only is this a unique spot for WSU’s anthracite jerseys, but this is also the unveiling of a new helmet look. WSU will rock their classic gray shells, but for the first time they will attach an anthracite facemask to complement the jersey. The WSU logo also has a white outline around the logo, which returns for the first time since being worn three times in 2022 and has been used six times on the gray shell since 2017. The outlined logo was worn with a gray helmet, anthracite jersey, and gray pants in the 2022 win at home vs. Arizona State.
The anthracite facemask has been a rarity, having only been worn three times in WSU’s history. Its last appearance was on the road last season at San Diego State. This new gray/anthracite/gray combo is the third variation and holds a total record of 3-0.
