Bayern Munich supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has seen a lot of good teams and the former football star rated this version of Paris Saint-Germain very high.
“Since Luis Enrique took over as coach there in 2023, they’ve been a top-class team, very smartly assembled. Paris has proven something crucial: You can’t buy everything; you also have to build a team with patience,” Rummenigge told t-online’s Julian Buhl. “When we beat them in the 2020 Champions League final, they had Neymar and
Kylian Mbappé in their squad. A year later, Lionel Messi joined them. On paper, it was a fantastic team, but also clearly one that didn’t work as a unit like the current one. Now they have a well-organized setup that possesses a lot of quality, especially in midfield and attack.”
If anyone would be able to identify the special characteristics of a team, it is Rummenigge, who has been around the block a time or two.
