TCU men’s basketball continues to scout talent at the JUCO level, gaining a commitment from State Fair Community College shooting guard Gavin Murphy. Murphy, who started his collegiate career at Ole Miss before playing two seasons at the JUCO level, averaged 10.8 points per game on 50% shooting, 48% shooting from the 3-point line and 87% shooting from the free-throw line during the 2025-26 season. The 6-foot guard spent one year with the Rebels before transferring to Eastern Florida State College and then
State Fair College.
Murphy becomes the latest JUCO prospect to join the Horned Frogs, who’ve already signed guard Trent Lincoln and 7-foot center Ryan Hunt. Xavier Edmonds, who was an All-Big 12 Third Team selection in 2025-26, came from the JUCO ranks as well. TCU is looking to build on a 23-12 record and a second-round trip in the NCAA Tournament during the 2025-26 season. The Horned Frogs have several players to replace including Kayden Edwards, RJ Jones, Ashton Simmons, Jace Posey, Liutauras Lelevicius, Malick Diallo and David Punch.
