Rinat Fakhretdinov delivered a statement win earlier today (Sat., Sept. 6, 2025) at UFC Paris LIVE on ESPN+ from inside Accor Arena in Paris, France, stopping rising brawler Andreas Gustafsson with a dominant 54-second TKO (punches).
Despite coming into today’s fight undefeated in UFC and 23-1-1 in his overall MMA career, Fakhretdinov was overlooked by many. The streaking “Gladiator” hasn’t tasted defeat since a decision loss in his second fight ever back in 2013 (which was on the same night that
he also won a fight) and was looking to prove he’s the real deal at 170 pounds. Standing in his way was Gustafsson, who offers one of the most aggressive fighting styles in the division right now.
Fortunately for Fakhretdinov, he was able to deliver one of the best performances of his career. The 33-year-old unleashed strikes in bunches to start off the first round and landed a clean body shot that put Gustafsson in trouble. Fakhretdinov kept the pressure up along the cage and unloaded massive punches to clobber Gustafsson to the ground. A few more shots were needed before the referee stepped in with just 54 seconds off the clock.
