Good morning, BBN!
The Kentucky Wildcats will kick off the SEC Tournament in Nashville on Wednesday afternoon as Mark Pope and his squad look to pull off the impossible and make a run to the weekend for the first time since 2019. What are the chances of the Cats doing that? Slim to none, it feels like. But could they do so with some players returning from injury? That seems like the better question.
Over the last week, buzz has been building around the potential return of Kam Williams this postseason.
After suffering a broken foot during the heart of SEC play, a return of the versatile forward would be a welcome sight. Not only does he add depth to a position of need, but his shooting and defensive abilities add some more intrigue to the Cats this postseason.
It also seems we could potentially see a return for Jayden Quaintance. While far less likely than Williams, if Kentucky were to make a run to the second weekend, it seems like this becomes more likely. Will it actually happen? I would still venture to say no, but it is worth watching.
Injuries derailed another season for Kentucky, but maybe some returns to the floor could help push this team slightly forward to make this offseason a little more bearable.
