WWE got us to the semifinals on the left side of the bracket for this year’s return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament on last week’s episode of NXT television, with Vanity Project vs. Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno set to determine who makes the finals.
This week, they got us to the semifinals on the right side of the bracket.
First, El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno del Mal, the reigning AAA tag team champions, who were given a bye in the first round, took on Birthright’s Lexis King & Charlie
Dempsey fresh off their victory over the Tokyo Bad Boys. Well, the champs took care of business without much issue and Zilla Fatu came back to add insult to injury after the fact.
Shouldn’t have dropped that diss track!
Later, big meaty men came together to throw some meat around when the Creed Brothers battled Hank & Tank. Not surprisingly, it was a hell of a back-and-forth battle. In the end, the referee didn’t see Hank come out of nowhere to help Tank, scoring a pinfall to advance.
That means Wagner Jr. & Galeno will take on Hank & Tank to determine who meets the winner of Vanity Project vs. Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno in the finals.
