The old saying of adding insult to injury doesn’t apply to the Cleveland Browns loss to the New England Patriots in Week 8 because it was a game that insulted fans from the second quarter on, AND was loaded
with injuries. The Browns say they don’t plan to move on from QB Dillon Gabriel, but the external push for QB Shedeur Sanders is going to get stronger.
With the NFL trade deadline next week, Cleveland’s roster could look different when it takes the field after its bye in Week 9. The celebrated 2025 NFL draft class could also see some missed time after injuries piled up around quite a few players in Week 8.
A review of the official play list against the Patriots showed the following injuries occurred:
- CB Tyson Campbell – Head injury protocol – Ruled out for game
- RB Quinshon Judkins – Shoulder – Ruled out for game
- S Rayshawn Jenkins – Groin – Ruled out for the game
- LB Carson Schwesinger – Ankle – Did not return to game
- TE Harold Fannin Jr. – Undisclosed – Did not return to game
Following the contest, HC Kevin Stefanski provided a few updates:
Judkins was uninterested in speaking with the media:
Schwesinger was in a walking boot in the locker room:
With a bye week ahead, injury updates will be minimal until after the NFL trade deadline.
