For the first time in a year, a Green Bay Packer has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month. This time, it’s newcomer Micah Parsons. This is his second time winning the award, first receiving
the honor in September of 2023 as a member of the Dallas Cowboys, though I suspect this won’t be his last time winning the award as a Packer (how great does it feel to be able to say this?).
In the month of October, Parsons played 82% (167) of the Packers’ defensive snaps. He amassed 9 tackles (5 TFL), 4 sacks, and 6 QB hits in wins against the Cincinnati Bengals, Arizona Cardinals, and Pittsburgh Steelers. He also recorded his first-ever 3-sack NFL game against Arizona, in one of the most dominant defensive performances we’ve seen from a Packer in years.
Upcoming opponents in the month of November are the Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles (nationally televised on Monday Night Football), New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, and Detroit Lions (nationally televised on Thanksgiving Day).
The last Packer to win Defensive Player of the Month was S Xavier McKinney in 2024, who also won the award in October for his performances against the Los Angeles Rams, Arizona Cardinals, Houston Texans, and Jacksonville Jaguars. The Packers went undefeated for this stretch of games as well.
