FanDuel Futures Day is coming up on Tuesday, August 26, where they will be holding specials on a series of odds throughout the day. Let’s run through those odds for the Cleveland Browns, so you can get your thinking caps on and decide what is worthy of a bet:
- Super Bowl winner/matchup: The Browns are tied for the worst odds to win the Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints, at +40000. Because of the odds you’re getting, it might be fun to play it like a lottery ticket and throw $1 on it. If that won, you’d profit $400. Or, you could try your hand at something like a Joe Flacco vs. Baker Mayfield Super Bowl (Browns vs. Bucs), which have odds of +150000. In that one, a $1 bet could profit $1,500.
- To make/miss playoffs: Cleveland is +880 to make the playoffs, and -1800 to miss the playoffs. A few days ago, we talked about why we like the gamble of the Browns turning things around and making a bet on them making the playoffs.
- Win totals: Or, if you don’t know if Cleveland will make the playoffs but still think they’ll be better than a year ago, maybe you want to bet on their win total — You can bet on them having over 2.5 wins (-650), over 3.5 wins (-270), or over 4.5 wins (-140). I’d say away from the bets of them having under 2.5 wins (+490), under 3.5 wins (+220), or under 4.5 wins (+120).
- Division winners: In the AFC North, the Browns are +3500, which is way worse than the rest of the teams. It’s an intriguing value bet, but it’s also understandable why you’d stay away if you feel like there’s no reason the Ravens shouldn’t win the division again.
- Player milestone: With how much Cleveland could sling the ball with Joe Flacco in 2023, I would have loved to have seen him included in the odds for a quarterback throwing for over 4,000 yards. Unfortunately, he was not. And with the team’s running back uncertainty, no running back milestone odds were available. At wide receiver, Jerry Jeudy is your only option to bet on — Will he have over 750+ yards (-250), 1,000+ yards (+130), 1,250+ yards (+600), or 1,500+ yards (+2200)? It’s worth consideration for one of those categories; but if the team’s quarterback situation goes into chaos or experimenting with rookies at some point, it’s a case where you could easily see Jeudy’s production stagnate.
