Tennessee is back home after a blowout loss to Florida on the road this weekend. The Volunteers dropped their second game of the conference season as the Gators manhandled them, winning the rebounding
battle by 11 and turning Tennessee over 18 times.
One bright spot was Nate Ament, who scored 17 points in a bounce-back performance. Tennessee as a team will once again need to bounce back tonight, set to host Texas A&M. The Aggies are 13-3 overall with a surprising 3-0 start in SEC play. A&M took care of LSU and Oklahoma at home, while beating Auburn on the road.
They have non-conference losses to SMU, UCF and Oklahoma State, all coming early in the year.
Bucky McMillan, who comes from Stanford, is in year one leading the program.
“Well, they press,” Rick Barnes said of Texas A&M. “I mean, you know, there’s been a lot of teams that press and they’ll jump up and press you, even on a missed shot.
“You know, that’s his style of basketball and he’s got a group of guys that are buying into doing that.”
