The Missouri track & field team surged to the finish line on the final day of its first outdoor meet of the season at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Saturday, March 21.
Women’s High Jump to Success
Marlena Tresnjo made her first appearance of her outdoor season placing first in the women’s high jump with a mark of 1.72m Sofia Wydra followed her in sixth with a mark of 1.57m.
Women’s Pole Vault Is Back!
Anna Vedral led the Tigers with a second place finish in the women’s pole vault, with a mark of 3.75m. Alongside her, MaKenna Estes placed eighth with her mark of 3.60m
and Allison Green placed 12th.
Men’s 400m Hurdles
Dillon Leacock took third in the men’s 400m hurdles with a time of 51.39 seconds which was Mizzou’s No.6 all time program record for this event.
Women’s Discus Throw
Ames Burton led the pack with a fourth place finish and throw of 47.91m. Behind her, Tania Duncan and Kaitlyn Morningstar placed eighth and ninth with marks of 40.88m and 38.93m.
Women’s 800m Race
Brianna Utecht took charge for the Tigers with a 28th place finish and a new personal record of 2:20.52.
Women and Men’s 200m Race
Robert Hines opened his outdoor season with a seventh-place finish in the 200m, clocking a time of 21.67 seconds. For the women, Wydra claimed 34th in the 200m, with a time of 26.72 seconds.
“Rob, I mean, I watched his practice yesterday, and he looks like a whole different, you know, athlete,” assistant coach Jordon Andreassen said. “He looks fantastic, so I’m really excited, just to see, you know, how they open up this weekend and move forward throughout the season.”

Next Up for the Tigers
The Tigers will compete in their second outdoor meet of the season at the Raleigh Relays, taking place on Friday and Saturday, March 27–28. This meet will give the athletes a chance to show off their talent in Raleigh, NC.
