Lamine Yamal gave Barcelona cause for concern yesterday in training after feeling some minor discomfort and leaving the session early.
According to Sport, the teenager was checked over by Dr. Ricard Pruna and the diagnosis was a “slight muscle strain” – an issue that the club consider completely normal at this stage of the season.
The report claims that Yamal was simply told to rest overnight but otherwise the club consider him to be in good shape and available to play on Saturday against Espanyol.
We’ll have to wait and see if Hansi Flick does decide to rest Yamal, particularly as he was coy on the topic when asked in his pre-match press conference.
“We’ll see how we manage it; it’s always good for him to start in the starting eleven, and we’ll see. I haven’t decided yet; we’ll have to wait until tomorrow,” he told reporters.
Yet Flick must be tempted to rest Yamal and may just have more incentive to do so after seeing Real Madrid drop points again on Friday night against Girona.
