Through the spring and summer, we will be counting down the Jets roster player by player. We begin the series by discussing Payton Page.
Name: Payton Page
Number: 98
Year With Jets: 2nd
Projected Role: Developmental defensive tackle
His 2025: Page went undrafted and signed with the Jets as a free agent. He didn’t make the final cuts and signed onto the practice squad. He was activated twice as a member of the practice squad. Then late in the season Page received a call up to the active roster. His most
productive game came in the Jets’ Week 17 loss to the Patriots where Page registered 5 tackles.
His 2026 will be a success if: Page earns a spot on the practice squad once again and makes the most of any subsequent active roster promotions. There just aren’t many defensive tackle roster spots available to give Page a path to the 53 out of training camp. T’Vondre Sweat, Jowon Briggs, Harrison Phillips, David Onyemata, and Darrell Jackson, Jr. are virtual locks. A player like Page will simply need to convince the coaches he’s worth developing from the practice squad.
Odds of making the roster: Longshot (<25%)
