Through the first two weeks of the 2025 regular season, the defense of the Seattle Seahawks has largely lived up to the offseason hopes of fans, even with several potentially key members of the unit missing through the first two games.
Specifically, linebacker Uchenna Nwosu missed the season opener, while cornerback Devon Witherspoon and safety Nick Emmanwori were inactive for the win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2. Though the pair missed the win Sunday, early in the week ahead of the upcoming
matchup against the New Orleans Saints head coach Mike Macdonald was optimistic that Emmanwori and Witherspoon could practice during the week.
However, if they are to practice during the week, it will be later in the week, as neither suited up for practice Wednesday according to Macdonald.
Of course, earlier in the week Macdonald stated that as a veteran who is familiar with the system, Witherspoon would not necessarily need to practice ahead of the game against New Orleans in order for coaches to be comfortable letting him play, so the fact that neither is set to practice Wednesday carries much more weight as it pertains to Emmanwori.
