The 4-4 Las Vegas Raiders are beginning their practice week Wednesday to prepare for Sunday’s game at the 6-1 San Francisco 49ers and, has been the case for most of the season, appear to be close to full health.
According to multiple reports, the only starter not on the practice field at the beginning of Wednesday’s session was outside cornerback Darien Porter. That is not a surprise since Porter departed Sunday’s 38-33 win at the New York Jets on the first play from scrimmage with a groin injury.
He did not return. Las Vegas coach Klint Kubiak said Monday that Porter would be monitored as the week progressed.
If he can’t play Sunday, rookies Jermod McCoy and Zeke Masses will likely rotate as they did against the Jets. The only other player not seen at the start of Wednesday’s practice was reserve wide receiver Cody White.
Starting defensive tackle Tonka Hemingway was on the field Wednesday. He played just 13 snaps Sunday because of a stinger. This post will be updates after practice.
