Duke’s recruits tend to get a lot of attention. This year, most of it goes to the Boozer twins and especially Cameron, who is seen as a Top Three recruit by virtually everyone. Brother Cayden gets a lot of love
too. Dame Sarr came on kind of late but he, too, is highly regarded. People are realizing that Sebastian Wilkins may be a bit underrated and he, too, is getting a lot more attention.
We’re really intrigued by Nik Khamenia. He’s going to have to spend some time in the weight room, obviously. He’s a tall, skinny teenager and for most guys, it takes a bit to mature. But he’ll get there.
What intrigues us more is his overall game. He can shoot, he passes very well and he’s really, really smart. Those are qualities that can improve a team significantly. He could be a reserve or something much bigger. We’ll have to wait to see. Our comparison, which we’ll talk more about soon, is Mike Dunleavy.
Duke Basketball put out a video about Khamenia that looks fun. We’ll get a better idea soon of where he stands against collegiate competition.
