Despite forcing extra points in both the fourth and fifth sets, the No. 16 ranked TCU Horned Frogs fell just short of victory during a pivotal Big 12 road match against No. 22 Colorado in Boulder on Thursday evening. While the Horned Frogs totaled 19 blocked shots, their most in a single match since 2023, TCU conceded each of the last two sets, falling 21-25, 25-19, 25-19, 27-29, 17-19 and losing a fourth straight match against a ranked opponent. Ella Foti posted a double-double with 21 assists and 17 digs
for the Horned Frogs (18-8, 8-6 Big 12) in the loss.
A combination of 10 service errors and 10 receiving errors doomed the Horned Frogs against the Buffaloes, who aced TCU 10 times and had just four receiving errors in the match. Outside hitter Evan Hendrix led the TCU attack with 19 kills and six digs, while Lauren Murphy totaled 12 kills and seven total blocks on a .357 hitting percentage. Becca Kelley chipped in 11 kills and Foti added seven for the Horned Frogs, who hit .220 as a team while Colorado hit .172.
Rosemary Archer dished out 17 assists with five digs and libero Alice Volpe led the TCU defense with 11 digs. The Horned Frogs will return to the court for a road match against No. 25 Iowa State on Saturday afternoon.
