New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers was carted off the field with what might be a knee injury with 6:12 left in the first half.
Nabers went down after trying to catch a long pass from Jaxson Dart.
At first it appeared that Nabers had landed on his right shoulder after having been on the injury report during the week with a shoulder injury.
Nabers had two receptions for 20 yards on the Giants’ opening drive Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, helping the Giants take an early 7-0 lead.
A published report indicates that Nabers likely has a season-ending torn ACL.
Nabers will undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm the severity of the injury.
The No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Nabers had 109 receptions for 1,204 yards as a rookie. Entering the game, he had 16 receptions for 251 yards, which was fourth in the league. Hie had four catches of 25 or more yards, tied for most in the NFL.
Dart dealing with a hammy
Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart could be dealing with a left hamstring injury. The CBS broadcast showed an image of Dart having his left hamstring stretched during the second quarter. Dart was later seen flexing that leg on the bench, then running gingerly on the sideline.
The Giants confirmed that injury.
Dart was also taken off the field for a concussion check in the third quarter. He cleared the protocol.
