Jets’ Breece Hall announcement is bad news for Broncos, Chiefs, Texans | The Sporting News
“Darren Mougey says that Breece Hall will be with the Jets next season. If they can’t sign him, then they will tag him. Hall going nowhere,” Connor Hughes of SNY said on X.
Hall staying put in New York is a horrible development for running back-needy teams, especially the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and Houston Texans.
Denver’s running game was incredibly inefficient last season, and adding Hall would’ve
given them a much-needed boost.
The same goes for their AFC West rival, Kansas City. The Chiefs tried to acquire Hall during the 2025 trade deadline, and it looks like they’re also gonna miss out on signing him.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid won’t be traveling to the NFL Combine this week | The Kansas City Star
During a Zoom call with reporters on Friday, Reid was asked why he wouldn’t be at the Combine by my former Kansas City Star colleague Herbie Teope.
“I couldn’t take you guys any more than this right here,” Reid quipped. “I had a little nice knee procedure done, so I’m on IR for about a second here, not long though.”
This won’t be the first time Reid, who turns 68 next month, will miss the Combine because of work done on a knee. In 2016, Reid had knee replacement surgery and didn’t make the trip to Indianapolis.
Bears’ Ben Johnson makes major confession about losing Eric Bieniemy to Chiefs | ClutchPoints
“I was blown away from the impact he had,” Johnson said. “Not just in that room but the entire offense. Those are big shoes to fill.”
The Bears finished the regular season ranked third in rushing, averaging 144.5 yards per game. It was an eye-opening improvement based on Chicago’s 2024 performance, where they ranked 25th overall (102 YPG). Of course, the Bears had a much better offensive line in 2025, while Johnson’s arrival gave the offense an overall boost. Still, Bieniemy’s contributions to that offense were evident.
D’Andre Swift set new career-highs with 1,087 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. Seventh-round rookie Kyle Monangai began his NFL tenure by rushing 169 times for 783 yards and five touchdowns. While all eyes were on quarterback Caleb Williams, Chicago’s running back tandem helped move the offense forward.
Browns exploring massive trade down could shake up Chiefs plans | Arrowhead Addict
The NFL Scouting Combine has commenced in Indianapolis. As a result, many rumors and ideas are being revealed or floated around the league. On Tuesday morning, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reported that the Cleveland Browns are looking into a possible “blockbuster” trade down in this year’s draft from sixth overall.
Could the Kansas City Chiefs be a team that makes sense as a trade partner? The Chiefs are set to make a top-10 selection for the first time since trading up to take Patrick Mahomes in 2017. Depending on how Kansas City views this class, a slight move up from nine to six may pique their interest.
The board will likely have to fall a specific way in order for K.C. to pull the trigger on this type of deal. However, this is arguably the most important draft the Chiefs have had under general manager Brett Veach. And he has not been afraid to move up the draft board via trade during his tenure.

Falcons to release QB Kirk Cousins on March 11 when new league year begins | NFL.com
Falcons general manager Ian Cunningham told reporters during his Tuesday news conference at the NFL Scouting Combine that the team plans to release the veteran quarterback on March 11.
“I did talk to Kirk and his representation, Mike McCartney, letting them know that we will release him on the first day of the league year,” Cunningham said. “We just felt that that was out of respect for Kirk and Mike, his agent, and what’s he’s done in his career, just that we owe that to him to allow him some clarity going into free agency.”
Cousins’ impending release from the Falcons doesn’t come as a surprise. The two sides recently reworked the four-year, $180 million deal he signed in 2024, and that modification was the first domino to fall as Atlanta looks for some salary-cap flexibility this offseason.
Sean Payton says OC Davis Webb will be Broncos’ playcaller | ESPN
It means the 2026 season will be the first time in Payton’s tenure as an NFL head coach — since 2006 — that he will not be his team’s primary offensive playcaller. Webb, who has been on the Broncos’ staff as the quarterbacks coach since Payton was hired by the Broncos in 2023, was promoted to offensive coordinator when Joe Lombardi was fired two days after the Broncos lost 10-7 to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.
“It was something that I kind of knew during the year,” Payton said Tuesday at the NFL’s scouting combine. “[Webb] is extremely talented. … I think he’ll be really good at it. I know that’s like, ‘Man, are you giving up playcalling?’ But I would only do that if I felt it would help our team. I’ll still be involved.”
Raiders expect Maxx Crosby to return in 2026, general manager John Spytek says | The Athletic
It took Las Vegas Raiders general manager John Spytek just 20 seconds to address Maxx Crosby’s future at Spytek’s media availability at the NFL Combine on Tuesday. When asked if he envisioned Crosby being on the Raiders in 2026, the general manager answered bluntly: “I do.”
After a rocky ending to the 2025 season, the Raiders’ superstar pass rusher has been at the center of trade rumors around the league.
“Maxx is an elite player,” Spytek said. “I’ve been very upfront from the start when I got here that we’re in the business of having really good players on the team, and we need a lot more of them. It’s hard to build a great team without elite players … Maxx and I have a great relationship. He’s in the building every day, getting healthy right now. We talk on the phone, we text. I have a great relationship with Maxx.”

Chiefs’ Brett Veach prepared for Travis Kelce’s decision either way
Two days into the NFL’s annual gathering of team decision makers, and Veach is unsure if one of the offense’s cornerstone players is coming back. There are fewer than two weeks until the legal tampering period opens for free agency, and the team can only straddle the fence without a definitive answer for so long.
“It’s not your typical 27-year-old first time in free agency,” Veach continued. “Travis has done everything, he has accomplished everything, he’s about to get married, he has a lot going on… You need some sort of deadline, timeline, but at the same time, it’s Travis Kelce, so we’re going to just continue to have positive dialogue and see where this thing ends.”
“We’re trying to position ourselves that either way, we have a plan moving forward.”
