There are just two games left in the regular season for the Boilermakers. Well, the season I guess. Purdue is certainly not going to the postseason. So it’s time for the staff to go on the record about
this one.
Ledman (9-1):
I just have very little confidence or faith in this team right now. If Purdue is going to win one of their remaining two games it will be this one mostly because I can’t see them even competing with IU. Ugh, what a terrible sentence that is. Plus, I would like some revenge on Ryan Walters. But like I said, I don’t see it. The Purdue offense is not consistent enough and the Purdue defense can’t stop BOTH the run and pass in the same game. I’m going witb the Huskies here and thanking all that is holy that basketball season is upon us.
Purdue 17
Washington 24
Ryan (8-2):
Well I don’t feel good about a long trip to Seattle to face a decent team that has a dual threat QB and a good running back. However, those who listen to the Boiler Alert Podcast know that I am a game back of Andrew and need to make up some ground. On that basis alone, I will go with the Boilermakers in this one.
Purdue 20
Washington 17
Travis (6-4):
At this point in the season we know what Purdue is. It has improved from “utterly putrid and hopeless” to “Bad, but can be a pain in the ass for 2-3 quarters”. I suspect we’ll see more of the same in this one. I don’t think it is a stretch to say Purdue has played well for stretches and has been competitive. USC, Illinois, Rutgers, Minnesota, and Michigan are all games where, if you squint, Purdue might have won if not for self-inflicted wounds. Washington struggled mightily at Wisconsin last week, but it is still a long road trip to a tough venue. Barring a miracle in the Bucket game, Purdue drops this and goes into 2026 on an 18 game losing streak in conference play. Washington 31, Purdue 24
Drew:
Can Purdue break their pattern of playing decent football and still losing?
Washington is the last best hope this season. They are coming off a brutal 13-10 loss to Wisconsin where the Husky offense looked like it was being called by their defensive coordinator instead of their offensive coordinator.
Still, they’ve got quarterback Des Williams and he’s good, like in his 4 TD performance against Illinois, he’s really good. That doesn’t bode well for a beleaguered Purdue secondary.
The Boiler battle but fade down the stretch yet again.
Purdue: 17
Washington: 27
