The No. 18 Michigan Wolverines (9-3) will face the No. 13 Texas Longhorns (9-3) in the Citrus Bowl on Dec. 31.
Ahead of the matchup, here’s a look at how Michigan stacks up against Texas, according to PFF
rankings.
Texas ranks ahead of Michigan in seven categories while Michigan ranks higher than the Longhorns in six categories. The greatest disparity is in passing offense, where Michigan ranks No. 72 and Texas stands at No. 17.
While these rankings provide a glimpse into how each team is trending heading into the matchup, both teams could have numerous opt outs. Michigan edge rushers Jaishawn Barham and Derrick Moore have opted out, as has offensive lineman Giovanni El-Hadi. However, more opt outs are expected in the coming days. Even so, PFF’s metrics would indicate Michigan has a chance to pull of an upset. But in the wake of Sherrone Moore being fired and all the noise and aftermath that surrounds the program, it seems like it’d be a miracle for the Wolverines to wind up victorious.
