It is tempting to turn the commentary on Game 162 of a playoff-less season towards current complaints and hopes for next season. For today—one final time in 2026—a Minnesota Twins baseball game was played. Let’s see how it ended up:
The Twins got on the final line score of the year first when Luke Keaschall coaxed a ballgame-leadoff walk, was singled to third base
by the returning-from-injury Kaelen Culpepper, and sacrificed home by Josh Bell’s 94th RBI (more on this front to come!). 1-0 MIN.
Alas, Texas C Danny Jansen jerked a Dean Kremer cutter over the LCF fence in T3 to knot the score at 3 apiece.
The baby was released from bondage post haste: in B3, Keaschall continued to rack up his franchise-leading HBP total, then Bell rang up RBI’s 95 & 96 with a 366-ft rocket to RF. 3-1 MIN.
After a single (Walker Jenkins) & 2 BB (Keaschall, Bell), Ryan Jeffers watched four more wide ones go by to start the carousel home. A Kody Clemens single then pushed Master Luke across the irregular pentagon. 5-1 MIN.
