What is the story about?
Greetings, BBN!
Ole Miss is still by itself at the top, but Kentucky is no longer alone at the bottom. Four more teams fell to 0-1 last Saturday, with some losing super close and well-fought battles (Tennessee), and others getting absolutely creamed at home (South Carolina). The games will continue in Week 4 with Auburn at Oklahoma and South Carolina at Missouri.
All except Mizzou have played a league game already, so most of the league will be getting all their non-cons out of the way first before
running into the 8-game gauntlet.
Let’s take a look at the standings heading into Week 4:

Notes:
- LSU beat Florida to make the Gators the only 1-2 team in the SEC. Fortunately for the Gators, they go back to nonconference play this weekend. Unfortunately for them, it’s to play at #4 Miami.
- Ole Miss’s next two SEC games are versus LSU on the 27th and at Georgia on October 18th. Win both of those, and they might actually be the frontrunners for the regular season title.
- Vanderbilt is 3-0 for the first time since 2017, and has beaten South Carolina for the first time since 2008. Games against Georgia State and Utah State coming up could get them to 5-0.
- Georgia’s win at Tennessee in overtime Saturday was its 9th straight over the Vols. They’ll face a lot of other wannabe SEC champions in the coming weeks, starting with Alabama in two weeks and then Ole Miss after that.
- Kentucky’s next game is at South Carolina, and then a trip to Georgia after that. The game against the Gamecocks will be critical if they want to shake off their goose egg in the league wins column, because nothing on their schedule will be easy in October.
