Raw airs tonight (Dec. 8) with a live show from T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. This is the second episode of Raw during the nine week build to Royal Rumble, which takes place on January 31 in Saudi
Arabia.
GUNTHER reveals the end of John Cena’s final match in WWE
It was just a few nights ago on SmackDown when GUNTHER won The Last Time Is Now tournament. The Ring General now gets to fight John Cena in his retirement match this weekend (Dec. 13) at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Earlier on SmackDown, GUNTHER cut a promo warning Cena to pay attention to the way he wins the final tournament match. The move he used to secure the tap out win was similar to Cena’s STFU finisher, except it actually looked good. In that moment it became quite apparent where this story is going; John Cena has made a career out of the phrase “Never Give Up,” but GUNTHER plans to make him finally give up in his WWE retirement match.
GUNTHER gets a big spotlight on tonight’s episode of Raw to cut a promo on Cena, where he will go into more details on how he plans to end John’s WWE career with a tap out. GUNTHER’s promo will essentially be the entire build to their match, unless someone like Ron Cena interrupts him to catch a beatdown. I’m sure GUNTHER will remind everyone that he already sent Goldberg into retirement this year as a loser, and now it’s Cena’s turn to suffer the same fate. John has no more dates left on Raw, but is there a chance he will appear via satellite to respond to GUNTHER’s vow to make him give up?
Tune into Raw to see the Ring General spoil the end of Cena’s final WWE match by telling you exactly how he plans to send the GOAT into retirement as a quitter.
The rest of the card
AJ Styles & Dragon Lee want to be fighting champions, so they are defending the world tag team titles tonight against the War Raiders. Erik and Ivar typically don’t get much time on Raw, so it looks like this match is here to continue building up the champs until some other team emerges as an actual threat. Which team will that be?
Rey Mysterio intends to run through every member of The Judgment Day until he finally gets his shithead son Dominik in the ring for an Intercontinental championship match. Mysterio starts that process tonight in a match against Finn Balor. One problem with Rey’s plan is that Logan Paul says the Intercontinental title is earmarked for The Vision. Does the YouTube douchebag plan to get involved in the Mysterios’ business tonight?
Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer is scheduled for an appearance on Raw. She briefly crossed paths with the returning Liv Morgan last week, and I bet Liv plans to take that title away from her ASAP. Are they heading towards a major title match on the Jan. 5 episode of Raw?
Lyra Valkyria vs. Roxanne Perez is booked on tonight’s card. The women’s tag team division is stronger than ever in WWE, with Perez and Raquel Rodriguez actually ending last week’s episode by holding up the WWE women’s tag team championship. Will this one end in another wild brawl that draws in other teams like the Kabuki Warriors and Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY?
Other stuff to keep an eye on
– Bron Breakker cut a hell of a promo last week as he was booked in a title match against World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk on the January 5 episode of Raw. Will Punk show up tonight to respond to Bron’s fiery words? Does CM care to speculate about whether Seth Rollins was the mystery man who screwed him over at War Games, or has he read the rumors about it really being Austin Theory under the mask?
– Jey Uso had something of a meltdown last week after LA Knight eliminated him from The Last Time Is Now tournament. This could be the point of no return when it comes to a potential Uso heel turn. Where is Jey’s head at tonight? Will he take out his frustrations on the megastar?
– Women’s Intercontinental Champion Maxxine Dupri is training in The Dungeon with Natalya while Ivy Nile patiently awaits the champ’s return. Will Dupri be ready to defend her belt tonight on Raw, if GM Adam Pearce wants to book a title match?
– Speaking of the women’s Intercontinental title, former champion Becky Lynch is boycotting Raw until her demands are met and the belt is returned to her. Is Becky serious about staying away from Raw until justice is served, or can AJ Lee cut a promo that causes Becky to change her mind?
– Does WWE have an official update on Penta’s status after he was eliminated from The Last Time Is Now tournament due to injury?
– Sol Ruca and Oba Femi are two of the NXT minor leaguers who are booked in matches at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Will any more NXT wrestlers appear backstage at Raw tonight and get added to that card?
– Where the f*** is Omos?
What will you be looking for on Raw?
