The Washington Commanders prepare for their season opener against the New York Giants on September 7th. NFL teams are required to cut their rosters down to 53 players by 4pm ET Tuesday, August 26th. Teams will be able to form 17* player practice squads the following day. The Commanders currently have 91* players on their roster, and need to trim 38 players.
