Barcelona sporting director Deco has issued a warning to the players after watching consecutive defeats to Sevilla and Paris Saint-Germain.
Deco has given an interview to Catalunya Radio and says the players must be united while also highlighting the importance of hard work.
“We’re not as magnificent or as exuberant as people painted us last season,” he said.
“We are a great team when we work together, when we’re all united, but not when we’re not capable of sacrificing ourselves for our teammates,
which is what happens a lot.
“We’re a very difficult team to beat when we’re like this, and we also have quality, but if we think quality comes before work, we have a problem.”
Deco’s comments come at a time when there’s plenty of scrutiny on Barca and Flick. Pedri has said the team lacked intensity against Sevilla, while Flick has insisted his team can bounce back after the international break.
