Julián Álvarez finally had a chance to meet with Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone on Wednesday and reiterated his desire to join Barcelona this summer.
According to reports from Madrid, the forward and the coach spoke briefly before the morning training session and Álvarez made it clear he wants to complete his “dream move” to Barça.
Simeone’s answer was the same he gave the media over the weekend: the club has already made the decision not to sell, and El Cholo is respecting the club’s decision and is counting
on Álvarez for the upcoming season.
Julián was very upset after being snubbed by Simeone on Monday and vowed to make things ugly as he tries to force a move to Catalonia, but his first face-to-face interaction was “cordial” and Álvarez still wants to be as respectful and professional as possible on his way out.
