Juventus are in the market for a new starting goalkeeper this summer. That is even with Michele Di Gregorio returning the lineup in recent weeks and playing rather well along the way. But everything points to Juve manager Luciano Spalletti wanting an upgrade in goal this summer, and the front office is determined to deliver that for the man who they just handed an expensive two-year contract to a couple of weeks ago.

Romano on his YouTube channel on Monday, we heard that a two-year contract (with an option for a third year) is what Juventus are willing to offer Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker, a name that is gaining more steam over the last couple of weeks. That is the medium-length contract that you would expect Juve to offer a goalkeeper who is going to be 34 years old in early October. What things look like in terms of a salary demand still remain to be seen, but it’s worth noting that he makes £7.8 million gross (plus bonuses) this season at Liverpool and is in the top 1o when it comes to the highest paid goalkeepers in the world, according to Front Office Sports.
Alisson has a year remaining on his contract with Liverpool, a deal that was recently extended by a year after the reigning Premier League champions picked up a clause in his deal to have it run through 2027.
As we have previously heard, Alisson is reportedly open to returning to Italy and having a reunion with Spalletti after the two worked together at Roma in the mid- and late-2010s. The difference in what Romano had to say in his most recent video and what we heard last week is that Alisson may well leave the final decision about his departure up to Liverpool considering they’re already losing big and important names in their dressing room this coming summer, most notably Mo Salah.
Juventus are clearly interested in making Alisson one of their early and biggest signings of the summer — something that CEO Damien Comolli has hinted at in recent interviews when it comes to the club’s aggressiveness on the transfer market regardless of Champions League football.
Is Alisson the clear-cut option to replace Di Gregorio? At this point, it feels that way. He’s pretty much the only option that we’re hearing about when it comes to the goalkeeper position — especially as it looks more and more likely that Guglielmo Vicario is Inter Milan’s top choice to replace Yann Sommer this summer regardless of Tottenham’s relegation verdict.
