For a couple of hours today, the mixed martial arts (MMA) world was rocked briefly when rumors swirled that former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) two-division champion Conor McGregor had been removed from the UFC roster; however, it’s not true.
Indeed, Ariel Helwani
clarified that McGregor remains on the roster, has submitted multiple drug tests, and even quoted the fighter saying, “It’s all systems a go.”McGregor confirmed that he passed his first drug test in a now-deleted tweet.
“First test
fully clean. Prick,” McGregor wrote to someone who accused him of failing a test.

“Notorious” has been active on social media, sharing sparring videos and teasing a long-awaited return. However, fans remain skeptical, as McGregor has hinted at comebacks for years without stepping back into the Octagon.
A planned 2024 return was derailed by a broken pinky toe, and ongoing legal issues have further complicated his comeback.
If McGregor does fight again, he’s eyeing a high-profile slot at UFC White House, a mega-event scheduled for July 4, 2026. He called it an “honor” to compete at the historic show. McGregor hasn’t fought since UFC 264 in 2021, when he suffered a gruesome leg break against Dustin Poirier.
