Zuffa Boxing has added yet another big name to it’s ever-growing roster of champions, as Dana White and Co. have landed the services on reigning WBC Middleweight champion, Carlos Adames per a recent post on social media.
Adames currently has a record of 25-1-1 with four defenses of his title, which includes fighting to a draw with Hamzah Sheeraz last year. During his tenure, Adames (32), has racked up 18 knockout wins, though the one knock on him his his rather tepid resume, though he claims it’s
due topeople constantly ducking him.
That said, perhaps with Zuffa Boxing’s goal to book the fights “fans want to see,” Adames could be getting bigger names moving forward.
“No more excuses. No more running. I’m on the biggest stage, ready to face the best. Line them up,” wrote the Domincan-French slugger.
Adames now joins big time stars such as Conor Benn, WBA and The Ring cruiserweight champion, Jai Opetaia, who also holds the Zuffa division title, and Shakur Stevenson, the current WBO and The Ring junior welterweight titles.
As far as who Adames will face in his Zuffa Boxing debut, it is still very early to tell though the promotion does have several 160-pound fighters who would love to welcome Adames into the fold, just don’t expect it to be this guy. That said, the head honchos at Zuffa aren’t done collecting talent.
