After Wednesday’s win in our debut Europa Cup game we’ve got one of the toughest Premier League fixtures to round off our opening spell of fixtures before this long international break. Anything we get today is something of a bonus, but with four points from our opening four league games we could do with getting at least a point today. Team wise, we did make four changes on Wednesday, and I imagine we’ll make a decent number of changes today too, with the team looking more like the one that took
on Arsenal.
Goalkeeper: Robin Roefs
A clean sheet was well deserved on Wednesday, with Roefs making two great saves on Wednesday to get us the win.
Defence: Nordi Mukiele, Kevin Danso, Dan Ballard, Trai Hume
Omar Alderete came into the defence on Wednesday for some much needed minutes, which will stand him in good stead but he’s likely to be back on the bench today as Dan Ballard will come back in to partner Danso. That will leave Mukiele at right back, and I expect Trai Hume to come in to replace the suspended Reinildo. Many peoople will expect Methalie to come in and he may well do – however I think Le Bris may protect him a bit as it’s a huge challenge to throw him into a fixture like this.
Midfield: Thomas Meunier, Enzo Le Fee, Granit Xhaka, Noah Sadiki, Malick Fofana
Thomas Meunier was a surprising omission from the team on Wednesday but he’ll likely come back into the reckoning today on the right of a midfield that – barring injury – will be Xhaka, Le Fee and Sadiki – while on the left I think Fofana will retain his place. If Hume does play at left back, we’ll need more of an attacking threat in front of him, so I suspect we’ll go with Fofana ahead of Angulo. Fofana did OK on Wednesday but there’s loads more to come from him, and his pace on the break could be vital.
Striker: Brian Brobbey
Brobbey will come back in for Isidor today and his hold up play will need to be on point for us to get out and hit them on counter attacks.
