Jared Verse was perhaps unfairly (or fairly?) asked about the potential unretirement of Aaron Donald, and Verse basically said that he doesn’t believe Donald will unretire, unless Donald unretires.
Sometimes the simple answers are the best.
Verse is right. Aaron Donald isn’t going to unretire unless Aaron Donald unretires. Until a decision is made, it’s all speculation, and it’s not anything to waste time on for some around the league.
For me? I’ll waste all the time on it. I love the speculation on Donald.
Do I think he’ll unretire? At this point I am leaning towards it (I am shocked he hasn’t just said “no” yet), and Verse is right. We’ll know when we know. Maybe it’ll just be a big nothing fun offseason story when AD comes out and says “Hey, Rams fan I gave you my all, and that’s all I had.” That’d be fine.
Or he could give the fans a little more. We’ll see.
Thank you for checking out Turf Show Times and have a great Thursday! Another day close to real NFL action, my friends.
Jared Verse Delivers Strong Words About Aaron Donald Returning to Rams (heavy.com)
““Man, when a lot of people retire, they done for good. But if anybody could unretire and come back and play, it’d be AD,” Verse said during an interview with “Good Morning Football” host Seth Rollins on July 15. “But I genuinely–me, personally–I don’t believe he’s unretiring until he says, ‘I’m coming back.’ When he says he’s doing something, when he says, ‘I’m retired,’ he’s retired. If he says he’s coming back, he’s coming back. Until I hear from the horse’s mouth, I ain’t hearing nothing else.”
Look: One of the Rams’ alternate jerseys may have leaked (ramswire)
“A post on Reddit appears to show a yellow throwback jersey, which has yet to be revealed. It features Myles Garrett’s name on the back, with blue numbers and stripes on the sleeves. It also has a blue and yellow tag on the back of the neck with the LA logo.
It’s hard to know the validity of this apparent leak, but there are several photos of the jersey and it appears to have an authentic Nike tag attached.“
One NFL Evaluator Doesn’t Think Rams WR Puka Nacua Is a Top-10 Receiver (si.com)
“However, while Nacua was ranked fourth, one voter left Nacua completely off their ballot. It can certainly be argued where Nacua deserves to be inside the top-10. With that said, he deserves a spot inside the top-10.
Nacua’s 313 receptions during the first three seasons of his career are the fourth-most all time behind Amon-Ra St. Brown, Michael Thomas, and Justin Jefferson. His 4,191 yards are the second-most behind Jefferson. Nacua hasn’t just been good in his first three years in the league, he’s been at an elite level.
Despite Nacua’s early success in his career, he’s consistently been overlooked. After a historical rookie season, quarterback CJ Stroud beat him out for Offensive Rookie of the Year. Nacua led Smith-Njigba in receptions, targets per route, yards per route run, and first downs per route run last season. Still, it was Smith-Njigba who won Offensive Player of the Year. “
