Nico Paz will remain at Como for another season. His father and agent, Pablo Paz, explained that both the player and Real Madrid believe continued development in Serie A is the right path.
Speaking to Flashscore, Pablo Paz revealed that while Real Madrid were keen on bringing the midfielder back, all parties ultimately agreed that another year in Italy—where Como will compete in the Champions League—would benefit his long-term growth.
“It was a difficult decision because Real Madrid really wanted him,
but they also felt that another season in Italy, with the possibility of playing in the Champions League, would be the best option for his development. If the buy-back clause is exercised, he can return to Madrid in the future,” Pablo Paz said.
The former Argentina international also confirmed that the agreement is not yet fully finalized, with a few contractual details still to be resolved before everything is completed.
“There are still some details to be defined and adjusted, such as the price. Nico is happy because he feels very comfortable in Como and is very valued there.”
Beyond football, Pablo Paz emphasized the positive environment his son has found since arriving in Italy, highlighting the importance of feeling appreciated away from the pitch.
“He has been received in the best way and is treated with great affection in every way. The human side is also very important and that makes him feel at ease.”
