While Bayern Munich is a massive club, its football kits are mostly hit or miss. Recent leaks (via Footy Headlines as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia) reveal that the Rekordmeister will experiment with purple for the 2027/28 home kit:
According to the reported leak, this aligns with Adidas CEO Björn Gulden’s stated design philosophy of “two classic and one risky” jerseys per cycle.
BFW Analysis
I’ve always had a soft spot for purple and having purple on a kit sounds like a decent idea. BUT, doing it on the home jersey when it’s traditionally red and white is an interesting choice. I’m not entirely sure how you put red and purple together, assuming there’s no white on this one.
I’m open to different concepts, designs, etc. but making the home shirt the “risky jersey” doesn’t seem right. I’m also disappointed that Adidas isn’t putting as much effort into Bayern’s jerseys as they do for kits of other clubs sponsored by Adidas.
Hey, at least it won’t be anything like the lavamintstrosity away kit of 2018/19 right? Right?
