Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across MLB. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Cubs fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
The somewhat surprising DFA of Jameson Taillon Monday hints that the Cubs are on the cusp of making a trade, or more than one.
For now, Andrew Wantz has taken Taillon’s roster spot. That gives the Cubs an eight-man bullpen for the time being, presuming Javier Assad is going to be held back
to start Friday against the Yankees at Wrigley Field.
But that also leaves an open question: Will the Cubs trade for a starter before next Monday’s deadline? Or more than one? And might they also add relief help?
I think we are all pretty much assuming the Cubs will try to add one good starting pitcher. But will they make more deals than that?
Vote in the SB Nation Reacts survey below and I’ll have the final results here later in the week.
