On Saturday, the No. 8 Texas Longhorns host the Sam Houston Bearkats at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, the first night contest of the year that marks the final game in a three-game homestand and the last time the Horns play on the Forty Acres until the Vanderbilt Commodores come to Austin on Nov. 1.
So while the matchup itself isn’t particularly hype-worthy, the 7 p.m. Central kickoff earned the starring role in the hype video released by the school on Friday.
“As the dark, orange sun sinks, the shadows begin to rise,” a woman’s voice intones. “They wrap the city, and when the veil of darkness settles over Austin, under the cover of night, the stars emerge. The spirit of the Lone Star never fades, it never quits. Through the darkness, we ignite. Under the Lone Star, the night is ours.”
