Update — 9:40PM EDT: Brown headed to Germany for medical after all
After setting up a medical in the United States, the German national team’s sudden exit will allow Nathaniel Brown’s exam to take place in Germany per Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg:
Bayern Munich is getting closer to complete a transfer deal for Eintracht Frankfurt’s left-back Nathaniel Brown. According
to Sky Sports Florian Plettenberg (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Brown’s medical is scheduled for this week.
However, when exactly the medical would take place will depend on Germany’s survival in the World Cup, with Tuesday or Wednesday being the projected days if Germany remains in the tournament.
Brown has been one of the most sought-after options in Europe’s transfer market, with Bayern pushing to secure his signature for a few weeks now, and having reportedly already agreed on personal terms with Brown and on a transfer fee with Eintracht Frankfurt.
With Alphonso Davies’ status and the extent of his injury in doubt (the left-back superstar has barely played 15-20 minutes in Canada’s victory against South Africa in the Round of 32), Bayern executives have been focusing its work on Brown’s transfer.
