Here are the player ratings from the Derby defeat.
Altay Bayindir – 4
Had some nervous moments once again and never looked like saving the second and third goal. This can’t continue if the team wants to build some momentum. His counterpart couldn’t have had a better debut to rub it in.
Patrick Dorgu – 4
Pinched the ball off Bernardo Silva a few times but, once again, had very little show once he got into the final third. The lack of quality is a concern.
Leny Yoro – 4
Haaland troubled him all game and Doku
was too strong for him on the second goal.
Matthijs De Ligt – 5
Didn’t do a lot wrong and had the better of Doku when he moved to the right.
Luke Shaw – 3
Poor on the first goal and outmuscled on the second.
Manuel Ugarte – 5
Pinched the ball a couple of times in the first half but almost always seems to play a pass that puts his own side in trouble.
Bruno Fernandes – 5
Not enough composure when he’s got the ball in his own half. Has no trouble spraying them wide or playing the final pass once he has some time on the ball. Expect better from him even if playing in a deeper role isn’t the best way to use him.
Bryan Mbeumo – 6
Sloppy for large parts of the game like most of his teammates but took one great shot which forced a brilliant save from Donnarumma. Had the chance to tap one in but it wasn’t the easiest chance to control. Gets a few shots off in every game, which is a positive.
Amad Diallo – 4
A bit careless when opportunities arose. Hasn’t started the season well.
Benjamin Sesko – 5
Haven’t seen a lot of him. Showed some promising signs but you worry for him a little as he awaits that first goal in a red shirt.
Subs
Harry Maguire – 4
At fault for the third goal.
Kobbie Mainoo – 5
Was a little too late to do much by the time he came on. Had one great moment.
Joshua Zirkzee – N/A
Casemiro – N/A
Manager
Ruben Amorim – 3
Uninspiring. Things need to click early against City and the players weren’t sharp enough but he needed a result today. Big game against Chelsea.
