Portland Trail Blazers forward Deni Avdija is questionable to play against the Boston Celtics on the road Monday night due to a lower back strain, the organization announced.
Avdija first suffered the back strain during Portland’s 123-114 loss to the New York Knicks on Jan. 11. After a three-game absence, Avdija returned to the lineup on Jan. 18 against the Sacramento Kings, but aggravated the injury in the second half of Portland’s next game against the Miami Heat on Jan. 23. The injury caused Avdija to miss
Portland’s 110-98 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Friday.
Blazers center Robert Williams III is also questionable to play against the Celtics on Monday because of left knee injury management. The Blazers also play against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday, and Williams hasn’t played in both games of a back-to-back all season out of injury precaution.
Blazers veterans Jrue Holiday and Jerami Grant don’t appear on the injury report.
