Happy Sunday Husky fans. The Huskies are set to host their first massive wave of official visitors next weekend and today we are going to take a look at who is set to visit, as of now starting with the uncommitted prospects.
4 star defensive back Jailen Hill from St John Bosco HS, CA is one of California’s top cornerbacks in the 2027 class. The Huskies have recently emerged as a contender for him and are battling Nebraska for his commitment. Listed at 6’2” and around 170 pounds Hill has the length
that the Huskies coaches covet at cornerback. 247sports has him rated as the 22nd best safety in the country, though I suspect he’s more of an outside cornerback in college. The Huskies already have 3 of his teammates committed in the 2027 class and I’m sure the staff would like to add Hill to their 2027 class. The official visit will go a long way in determining if the Huskies can land him.
4 star wide receiver Dontay Tyson from Peoria HS, AZ is headed to Montlake for an official visit as well next weekend. The Huskies have been after Tyson for a while and he recently narrowed his recruitment down to UW, and Texas A&M. The Huskies get the first shot at a visit and they are hoping they can wrap up the 6’1” 190 pound wideout as quickly as they can. When you watch his film you can see that he is physically advanced and looks like the best player on the field when he’s playing. He can play inside or outside and he recently clocked a 10.77 100 meter time this spring. I like where the Huskies stand and we will see what happens with Tyson after his visit next weekend. 247sports has him rated as the 40th best wide receiver in the country.
4 star (composite ranking) cornerback Kamil Loud from Bishop Gorman HS, NV is an interesting prospect who has recently rose up the recruiting boards of a lot of schools and the Huskies are bringing him on campus next weekend. UW isn’t the only school who has been after him, both ASU and Utah have been pushing hard to see if they can land a commitment from Loud. Rated as the 60th best cornerback in the country by 247sports, Loud has similar size to current Husky Jeron Jones and his film is very similar (very active around the ball). The Huskies get the first crack at him next weekend followed by ASU, and Utah.
One of the more important visitors on campus next weekend is 3 star edge Chaz Gray from St Joseph Regional HS, NJ. Gray, who is rated as the 33st best edge in the country by 247sports, was recently offered by the Huskies and they have been very aggressive in their pursuit of him (including multiple in person visits to see him). Listed at 6’4” and around 250 pound Gray has a great frame and a huge wingspan which helps him disengage blockers and create havoc in the backfield. I really like his film and I can see NFL potential when I watch his highlights. The Huskies are battling Clemson, Tennessee, and Nebraska to try and land Gray and I will be interested to hear what he has to say about his first visit to Montlake and Seattle.
The last scheduled un-committed visitor next weekend is 3 star edge Jag Ioane from Orem HS, UT. Ionae, who is an intriguing prospect and is nowhere close to hitting his ceiling physically (he’s listed at 6’2” and around 185 pounds). The Huskies have been pursuing Ioane as a rush edge but they are battling both in-state schools to try and secure a commitment from him. I think the Huskies have a fighting chance to land him but the favorites are probably either BYU or Utah for him currently. When you check out his film you can see how explosive he is and the potential to be a game wrecker at edge.
Not only are the Huskies bringing in some talented uncommitted prospects they are also bringing in several of their top commitments from the 2027 class. Those on campus include 4 star quarterback Blake Roskopf who will likely be in the ear of Tyson all weekend. 4 star running back Jeremy Adeyanju will also be campus for an official visit as will Rokopf’s teammate 4 star wide receiver Zerek Sidney. The Huskies will also see 3 star defensive lineman Matamatagi Uiagalelei and 3 star linebacker Titus Osterman on campus to help the rest of the commitments acting as recruiters for the un-committed players.
Next weekend I will have a post on the official visitors and if any additions come to the visits next weekend we will mention those here. That is all for today as always follow me @asieverkropp for recruiting news.
