According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Chicago Bears plan to sign veteran defensive tackle Kentavius Street.
Street (6’2”, 315) was originally a fourth-round draft pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2018. He signed a one-year contract with the New Orleans Saints in 2022, which is where he crossed paths with current Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, who was the Saints’ head coach at the time. Street started all 17 games in New Orleans with a career high 29 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
He moved
on to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023 on a one-year deal and was traded to the Atlanta Falcons midseason. The Falcons re-signed him in 2024, but he was cut before the 2025 season. He immediately returned to their practice squad before being signed to their 53-man roster in November. In all, the soon-to-be 30-year-old has played in 85 games with 10 starts while racking up 10.5 sacks. In his 7 games last season, he had 21 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks in 216 snaps on defense.
Terms of the contract have yet to be revealed, but I can’t imagine it’ll be for much more than the league minimum. This is a signing for depth to push for a roster spot, so nothing to get too worked up over.
