Well, folks. 6 pm ET on Monday, August 3 has come and gone. The rollercoaster of highs, lows, headscratchers, and everything else in yesterday’s MLB trade deadline frenzy have all of us crashing… or crashing out.
I think this post from Mike Petriello sums it up nicely:
The trade deadline presents us with a rare opportunity to psychoanalyze an organization: how they think, what they value, their goals
and intentions, and their ultimate priorities. We, as fans, feel it’s simple. We want to attend a World Series parade, so do what it takes to get there. But the path(s) it takes to execute on the latter are where we may not be aligned with front offices and baseball executives. And that’s where the Big Feelings come in.
The dust is continuing to settle, but we wanted to catalogue the spectrum of emotions of Braves Country and Battery Power readers as to what the future holds for 2026 and beyond based on the deals made this deadline. The staff assessment / grades referenced below can be found HERE.
