ESPN | Jorge Castillo: Yankees superstar right fielder Aaron Judge edged out challenger Cal Raleigh to notch his third career American League MVP, his second straight season winning the award (and third campaign
in four years). He joins Yogi Berra, Joe DiMaggio, and Mickey Mantle as the only Yankees players to win three career MVPs while with the team, This year’s vote was Judge’s closest victory, as he defeated Raleigh 17-13, with no other player in the Junior Circuit receiving a first-place vote.
Additionally, Judge received the American League Hank Aaron Award, also his third time receiving the honor in his career.
MLB.com | Jeffrey Lutz: Last night also saw the 2025 All-MLB teams announced, and the Yankees were well-represented. Unsurprisingly, Judge was named as one of the First Team outfielders, alongside Seattle’s Julio Rodríguez and Queens’ Juan Soto. Staff ace Max Fried joined him on the First Team as one of the five starting pitchers, while impending free agent outfielder Cody Bellinger was named to the Second Team.
SNY | Phillip Martinez: Speaking to reporters at the annual GM Meetings via Zoom, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman approached a wide range of topics about the 2026 Yankees. First and foremost among them? Shortstop prospect George Lombard Jr., who took the Grapefruit League by storm last spring. While Cashman pumped the brakes on the hype train, noting that with the Yankees’ infield already set at the Major League level (barring offseason moves, of course), Lombard isn’t likely to get the call up in 2026. That being said, things can quickly change, and a strong performance in the minors can force the issue — and so he’s not ruling it out, either.
CBS Sports | RotoWire Staff: Speaking of the infield, Cashman revealed that the team has not yet had discussions with Jazz Chisholm Jr., whose contract expires after 2026, about an extension, but he did note that the Yankees are willing to have conversations on the subject. Notably, Chisholm, who put together a 30/30 campaign en route to a Silver Slugger despite missing a month, has vocally expressed a desire to remain in the Bronx for the long haul.
SNY | Phillip Martinez: With Chisholm not under contract beyond this coming season, though, it behooves the Yankees to think about adding to their infield for the long-term. As such, Phillip Martinez discussed the possibility of the Yankees adding former Toronto shortstop Bo Bichette, who is a free agent. While noting that Bichette does come with some risk, Martinez ultimately concludes that the Yankees ought to spend money on him, because they missed out on potential franchise shortstops in recent years in favor of their farm, which hasn’t worked out as hoped.
ESPN: Rumored reports that NL Cy Young Paul Skenes wants to pitch for the Yankees took the league by storm the other day. Speaking to the media for the first time since the story broke, however, the superstar pitcher threw some cold water on the news, reiterating that his desire is to pitch — and win — in Pittsburgh.
